Gary Trubl

Gary Trubl is a research scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a microbiologist, and a member of the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory's User Executive Committee. His research focuses on meta-omic approaches combined with other tools, such as stable isotope probing, to detect and characterize viruses, the most numerically abundant biological entities on Earth. Gary’s work extends to viruses in the space environment as well as astrobiology. Professor Trubl teaches Bioinformatics and National Lab Space Research Forum.
